Gisela’s review of Royal Bastards

Disclaimer: This is going to be one of those reviews, that isn’t much of a review, but more of an emotional fangirl rant because I have way too many emotions right now.

Holy shit, what did I just read and how did all that happen in just one book! If a book keeps me up at night because I have to know what happens, then I count that as a good book. Honestly, the only thing I’m even more upset about is the fact that I have to wait FOREVER LONG TO GET THE NEXT BOOK!

The book summary does a good job telling you what the book is about, so I went into reading this knowing kind of what I was getting into. I read the first couple of pages and I was like okay, interesting, this is kind of more kid-ish. But then by the second and third chapter, I was like, “Whoa! Whoa! Definitely Young Adult!!!” The detail and the plot was really enjoyable and all the characters were so well written. I’m a sucker for a group of people becoming friends under dire circumstances (sort of like Harry Potter) and I also got some serious Sarah J. Maas/Throne of Glass vibes from the characters. Perfect chemistry between all of them, even if it was between friends or if the characters were enemies.

But damn! I did not think all of that (which I don’t want to spoil what THAT is) would happen in one book. I was crying by the end because I didn’t know what else could go wrong for these guys. Anyways, I’m still too emotional over that ending. I’m just going to cry now. Bye.

ALSO, Thank you Apollycon for having this book there for people to read. Gosh, I love you.
